Power of Coaching
Power of Coaching (POC) has been designed by the creators of the ITP and OTP to enhance the leadership of teaching and learning through promoting effective coaching. Facilitated by our experienced OLEVI accredited school leaders, POC forms part of the OLEVI teaching and learning syllabus, which has gained a national reputation for raising standards in teaching and learning.
Outstanding Facilitator Programme
In the Outstanding Facilitator Programme, aspiring facilitators will develop the mind, skill and knowledge set to provide a focused thinking space, create a dynamic varied learning experience, and ultimately inspire a commitment to professional and organisational change.
A Model of Quality Assurance for Primary Subject Leaders
This course will enable participants to share and develop models of quality assurance for subject leaders, whether this be directly as a subject leader, or a senior leader seeking to implement new approaches. It will allow participants to more acutely appreciate the effectiveness of their curriculum, by identifying its tangible impact on pupil outcomes in those subjects.
Translating Behaviour – Developing Practical De-escalation Strategies (Support Staff)
This course is delivered by Luke Mitchell, who is the head of the behaviour support service for the Wellspring Academy Trust which supports mainstream primary, secondary, special and alternative provisions. During the session, Luke will be sharing some of the techniques and strategies he uses to reduce the risk of challenging behaviours. This practical session will use video footage of children in low level and crisis situations to look at how staff can begin to translate the behaviour of children.
Primary Maths Leadership Development Group
The Primary Maths Leadership Development Group is led by two experienced primary phase maths leads. We offer network meetings and workshops, with the aim of working collaboratively to build the capacity of subject leaders to lead effectively, instigate change and improve outcomes for children. The agenda for the network meetings will be set collaboratively by the network members and include relevant aspects from the following.
Primary English Leadership Development Group
Led by a team of experienced primary teachers, English specialists and including a leader of an OURfP Teachers’ Reading Group, TVTSA are offering four English network sessions for the academic year of 2020/21. Over the three sessions, teachers will have the opportunity to explore successful strategies for the teaching of writing and reading. By attending the networks, teachers will also be able to share good practice and resources developed within their own schools.
Early Years Leadership Development Group
Led by an experienced EYFS practitioner and early years SLE, we offer six network meetings and two Early Excellence courses for colleagues to further develop their existing knowledge and keep abreast of current issues within the EYFS. During these sessions, practitioners will have the opportunity to discuss current issues and share expertise. It is great to meet with colleagues and discuss anything from classroom settings and assessment to forest schools and creativity.
Inspiring Primary Science
Inspiring Primary Science is a programme of networking meetings and workshops, with the aim of building the capacity of subject leaders to lead effectively, instigate change and improve outcomes for children. The three subject leader meetings across the year will raise issues of particular concern and provide updates regarding latest news about primary science, as well as feature moderation of outcomes, beginning with a base line task in session one.
