EVC
As directed by the Department for Education, there must be a trained Visits Coordinator (EVC) in all schools. This course provides a detailed briefing on the range of factors which need to be considered, including the legal situation, risk assessment, supervision arrangements, insurance, parental consent, outdoor pursuit qualifications and sources of further advice (based on the local authority’s visits guidance). The course follows the national framework for EVC training and is delivered by an OEAP accredited course director. It is good practice to refresh this training by attending an EVC refresher training event every three years.
